They also offer a range of motorcycle sheds utilising the same construction, engineering and materials.
SOLD SECURE Silver Certification
Exciting news for the BikeBox!
We are delighted to share some exciting news — the ProtectaCycle (which is the brand name of the BikeBox in the UK, where it is manufactured) has officially achieved SOLD SECURE Silver certification, making it the first home-use bicycle storage unit to be independently tested and approved by the UK’s leading security testing body.
SOLD SECURE is the premier independent certification for security products in the UK, widely recognised in the cycling industry across the globe. Their expert testing engineers attempted to break into the ProtectaCycle using a range of tools—including bolt croppers, saws, hammers, and chisels—all within a strict time limit. We are thrilled to say that they failed to gain entry.
However, we didn’t stop there. We upgraded the internal security with a more substantial ground anchor and chain and requested SOLD SECURE to test the unit again—this time against their toughest Gold standard, which allows for heavier-duty tools and additional time. Once again, the ProtectaCycle stood firm! The SOLD SECURE Gold version will be available in Australia later in 2025.
Given the importance of bike security and the prevalence of bike theft in Australia, this is great news all round!
